DO ALL YOUR WORK!!!!!!!!!

favorite websites

I took a look at the majority of the web sites and Ryan Barry's site stood out to me I liked the ease of the site and the overall layout. Some of the pages would not come up on the browser. another site that really looked good was Tyler Graief's I liked how he did the site on Jamaica and it looked really nice. PowerPoint

The articles were very good and helpful some of the guidelines I feel people in the class should follow are: limiting the use of bullets, use high quality graphics instead of clip art, never read your slides out loud use them as more of a guideline than textbook, throw in an animation or video to spice up the presentation a little bit, and always keep it simple more is less. The thing that bothers me the most is when people just read their presentation right of the projector instead of telling new and more informative information.

Excel

I took computer skills in high school and had already learned the majority of the information taught. The nicest thing about taking it again was learning how to use it with the new vista platform for windows. Also relearning the if function helped a lot i had completely forgotten how to do it now i can use it with ease.

CLT

I personally don't see myself using this room that often. Maybe for this class when we have to create the post cards or something like that. As of right now not very many of my classes require me to be digitally creative. However it was cool to learn that we have all that equipment at our disposal in case we ever needed to use it.

Smoking Hot Ann Richards

I chose the one with Ann Richards on a motorcycle because it was a picture of Ann Richards on a motorcycle. The picture was first seen on a 1992 cover of Texas Monthly. The picture was manipulated by splicing a picture of Ann’s head onto the body of a model. The picture was altered to make Ann look like a younger more vibrant person. Ann didn’t have a problem with the picture. She said the model had such a good body that she couldn’t complain. If she can’t complain then why should we?

Chris Nolan

The thing I learned that i didn't know was that you can hit control f allows you to find key words on a searched page. The the that surprised me the most is that a .org url is a non profit organization.

copy right laws

Jason Hardin talked about the Sonny Bono Act (Mickey Mouse protection Act) which extended copyright laws an extra twenty years after the author’s death. The act its self is good idea. It keeps the true owners attached to their work. The problem I have with the act is the fact that all copyright laws were changed just for one man’s work. The act was put in place for Walt Disney so he would not lose the copyright to his characters. Jason also said that the twenty year extension was coming to an end. He also spoke of the possibility of copyright laws be lengthen even further passed the life of the author. All that shows is corruption in politics that one man can have such an influence on a particular law. Why not establish a law and go by it?

I usually only get on facebook about three time a week. I do see the potential for it to be used academically. It helps students get organized into study groups or whatever its just a very useful tool for students to utilize.
