copy right laws
Jason Hardin talked about the Sonny Bono Act (Mickey Mouse protection Act) which extended copyright laws an extra twenty years after the author’s death. The act its self is good idea. It keeps the true owners attached to their work. The problem I have with the act is the fact that all copyright laws were changed just for one man’s work. The act was put in place for Walt Disney so he would not lose the copyright to his characters. Jason also said that the twenty year extension was coming to an end. He also spoke of the possibility of copyright laws be lengthen even further passed the life of the author. All that shows is corruption in politics that one man can have such an influence on a particular law. Why not establish a law and go by it?

I completely agree with you. I've been reading so many posts that are for Copyright of Disney being extended into the forever, but why should Disney be an exception to the law? Many are worried about the billion dollar franchises and business that stemmed from this but really...law is law. I think it's time to let it go, face it, things will not be around forever.
